Contraception

Contraception (birth control) is an important part of women’s reproductive health. When the right form of contraception is used correctly, it can allow women to be in control about the timing and number of their pregnancies.

Many women do not wish to get pregnant for a range of reasons – they may be too young, too old, not yet in a financially secure situation, wanting to focus on their studies or career first, and so on.

With so many types of contraception available today, how should women choose?

Ideally, you should visit a gynaecologist who will advise you on the most suitable method for you. Some factors that he or she might take into consideration include:

  • Your age and medical history
  • Your budget
  • Your sexual frequency
  • If you prefer a daily method, or a more long-term one
  • If you prefer a method that you can administer on your own
  • Whether you have a regular partner or multiple ones
  • Whether you have children or plan to have children in the future

Our clinic offers a wide range of contraception options. Read more here, or speak to our doctor today:
