The Spectra™ Laser system is a non-ablative skin rejuvenation treatment. This two-step thermal rejuvenation process is aimed at the treatment of enlarged pores, acne scars, fine wrinkle reduction and melasma. With minimal downtime and reduced treatment intervals, patients can return to their normal lives shortly after treatment. Spectra™ Laser is designed for a range of indications and skin types.
- SpectraPeel™ for Rejuvenation – This gentle skin rejuvenation treatment provides photo-bio-stimulation to the epidermis, gently heating and mildly exfoliating the outermost layer of the skin. The laser energy results in photomechanical destruction of the microfine carbon particles in the previously applied carbon lotion. Because the outermost layer of dead skin cells are gently removed, the dermal cells associated with skin rejuvenation (fibroblasts, mast cells and macrophage cells) are stimulated resulting in skin regeneration and collagen re-modeling to treat poor skin tone, wrinkles and scar reduction.
- Spectra Peel™ for Acne – The dual mechanism of the Spectra Peel™ controls the inflammation of acne, reduces sebum production and normalizes epithelial proliferation.
- Spectra Peel™ for Enlarged Facial Pores – Spectra Peel™ induces superficial peeling as a result of photomechanical action and removes excessive sebum, exfoliates the upper layer of skin and unplugs the pores. First, topically applied carbon particles penetrate into the pores. Next the energy from the laser is absorbed by the skin and explodes the carbon particles. This process causes the inner walls of the pores to reduce in size by way of stimulation and mechanical action. The subsequent dermal remodelling effect in Q-switched mode promotes regeneration of collagen and recovers elasticity in the skin.
- Spectra™ Laser Toning for Melasma – Melasma is a common acquired pigmentary disorder among Asian skin. Attempts to treat melasma with lasers and other light sources that target melanin have frequently resulted in irritation, post-inflammatory pigmentation and occasionally, worsening of the melasma, especially in Asians. Spectra™ Laser Toning is designed to penetrate and target melanin in the deep dermis thereby treating both dermal and epidermal melasma. It is a non-ablative procedure and patients can complete treatments and return to their normal daily routines shortly afterwards.
