Hair Removal Treatment
Intense Pulsed Light or IPL treatment gently removes unwanted hair, putting an end to shaving and waxing. IPL slows the growing capacity of hair follicles in the growth cycle at the time of the treatment.
The number of treatments for optimal long-term results depends on the hair density and your hair’s growth cycle.
During treatment, IPL parameters are set to ensure effective hair removal without harming the surrounding skin. The pigment (melanin) in the hair shaft absorbs the IPL light energy in the form of heat which is directed downwards to damage the hair follicle roots and inhibit further hair growth. The damaged hair follicles are then spontaneously eliminated.
Benefits of IPL Hair Removal
Rather than treating one hair follicle at a time as is done with lasers, IPL’s wide beam targets many hair follicles simultaneously over the arms, legs, face, shoulders and back thereby significantly reducing treatment time.
There is minimal pain and discomfort.
